Hacker group ‘Anonymous’ warning Elon Musk to “expect them”.

The infamous hacker group “Anonymous” is believed to have targeted and threatened Tesla CEO Elon Musk for apparently “destroying lives” by way of cryptocurrency. The viral video claims that “the vast majority of Tesla’s income doesn’t actually come from selling cars, it comes from government subsidies” and that “Tesla has made more money holding Bitcoin for a few months than they did in years of selling cars”. He has further been accused of dreadful deeds including exploiting young children and his willingness to stage coups.

The announcement that was made by Elon Musk last month on his official twitter handle about Tesla suspending vehicle purchases through Bitcoin was followed by a crash in the crypto market. He quoted climate change concerns and the coin’s peak market value was wiped out by more than billions of dollars. The hacker group said that “It is now widely believed that Elon has been forced to renounce his company’s involvement with Bitcoin in order to keep that green government money flowing into Tesla’s coffers”. The group also criticised Elon Musk for calling himself the ‘Emperor of Mars’ and accused him of “sending people to die” in the near future. The video ends on a menacing note, which said, “We are Anonymous! We are legion! Expect us”, a classic from them.

However, the most popular Twitter handle of Anonymous (@YourAnonNews) with over 6.7M followers stated in a tweet on June 5 that “while they offer their many new crypto and bitcoin followers all the best in their ongoing spat with Elon Musk, they believe that the account we seek is @BscAnon”, and not them. The confusion further escalated when the mentioned Twitter handle tweeted,”That Is Not Our Video To Elon Musk for the record.”

Meanwhile, another Anonymous Twitter handle named @YourAnonCentral with over 5.9M followers gave the impression of being affiliated with the hacker group and declared that the video has, in fact, been posted by Anonymous, and said,”When Anonymous tweets, Elon Musk hides”.

It seems that Musk has acknowledged the threat indirectly, and tweeted, “Don’t kill what you hate. Save what you love.”
