While at CryptoBullsClub we have covered several aspects of on chain analysis, one thing that needs special attention is tracking crypto whale. This can give you a great idea of where money is flowing, which tokens and investments to pay attention to and getting an understanding of what smart money and large entities in the space are doing in terms of investments.

Have you ever heard of on-chain analysis? If not, let me tell you, it’s a fascinating tool that dives deep into the world of cryptocurrencies. It’s like peering into the intricate web of the blockchain, unravelling secrets and mysteries. Analysts harness its power to understand the behaviour of those who wield digital currencies. Think of it as a magnifying glass that reveals the inner workings of transactions, their sizes, and the wallets involved in their dance. Armed with this treasure trove of information, analysts get insights that shed light on the dynamics of currency usage, uncovering the identities of those behind the transactions, and even predicting the future of specific cryptocurrencies. It’s a goldmine for investors, traders, and anyone eager to ride the cutting edge of the crypto universe.

When it comes to tracking the behemoth moves of whales in the cryptocurrency world, there’s one tool that shines bright: Arkham Intelligence. That’s precisely why Arkham Intelligence has secured its spot as one of the most promising projects to keep an eye on in 2023. What is Arkham Intelligence

Detractors of cryptocurrency frequently point fingers at the industry, claiming it favours those who were early to the game. The concept of being a first-mover holds immense power: the sooner you jump into a crypto project, the higher your chances of accumulating a substantial amount of tokens at a bargain price. Occasionally, individuals with insider knowledge discreetly gather tokens, reaping the greatest benefits. On other occasions, seemingly unrelated addresses mysteriously collaborate to influence decision-making processes within governance structures. Without the ability to identify the true owners of these addresses, comprehending the true nature of their transactions becomes an arduous task.

That is where this project helps users. Picture this: an intelligence platform that goes beyond the surface level of crypto market activity, digging deep into the real-world personas responsible for it all. Meet Arkham, our new favourite tool for uncovering the true identities behind those anonymous addresses. The genius minds of the Arkham Intelligence Team have mastered the art of deanonymization, thanks to their arsenal of unique techniques and algorithms. By delving into both on-chain and off-chain data, along with open-source information and other data sources, they paint a vivid picture of the characters behind the transactions. And here’s the kicker: they only publish tags onto the platform once they’re absolutely certain of their precision. Plus, user-generated intel is kept under lock and key, for added privacy.

Rest assured, user-added addresses, entities, and labels have no role in shaping the intelligence offered on this remarkable platform. At Arkham, privacy is paramount, and they go the extra mile to safeguard user data, never even entertaining the thought of selling it off. The company recently secured an impressive $12 million in funding, fueling their ambition to make a grand entrance into the public sphere by the close of 2023. With this substantial runway, the company has ambitious plans to broaden its feature set, embracing additional chains and crafting tools that will strike a chord with traditional finance (TradFi) users.

When you use Arkham, you get the chance to unlock the endless possibilities of the platform. Here’s a glimpse into the incredible capabilities that await:

  • Upon accessing the platform, follow the prompts to set up your account. This involves creating your login credentials and providing the necessary information.
  • Once you’ve successfully logged in, you’ll be greeted with a short tutorial to familiarize yourself with the platform’s features. Take a few moments to absorb the valuable insights shared.
  • Optionally, you can personalize your profile by populating it with relevant details. This includes adding your exchange accounts, Web 3 wallet, or wallet addresses directly. It’s your chance to tailor the experience to your liking.
  • In case you miss this step initially or need to add accounts in the future, fear not! Simply click on the “+” button located at the top right of the bottom left-hand quadrant on the Profile Page. From there, you can seamlessly manage your accounts.

Entering your accounts

When it comes to adding addresses to your personal page on Arkham, you have three convenient options at your disposal. Let’s explore each one:

Public Key/Ethereum Address:

To add your Ethereum addresses, simply paste them into the dialog box that opens. Arkham will automatically detect and add them to your personal page. It’s a seamless and effortless way to keep track of your Ethereum holdings.

Exchange Interface:

If you prefer a more streamlined approach, you can opt for the “Exchange” tab in the dialog box. Follow the instructions provided to connect with supported exchange APIs. This integration allows you to easily sync your exchange accounts with Arkham, ensuring a comprehensive view of your crypto activities.

Wallet Import:

Within the dialog box, navigate to the third tab labelled “Metamask.” Click on it to proceed. The platform will guide you through a series of prompts to establish the connection between your Metamask wallet and Arkham. Simply follow the instructions provided to complete the process. Rest assured that Arkham will never request you to sign any transactions or provide a wallet signature.

Once you have successfully connected your Metamask wallet to Arkham, the platform will work its magic. It will aggregate your token holdings from all the provided sources and extract the latest data directly from the blockchain.

Monitoring your portfolio

Once your wallets are linked to the platform, Arkham goes above and beyond by offering an array of smart features tailored to your unique portfolio.

Let me walk you through the four different quadrants that make up the page.

  • First up, we have the Portfolio quadrant. This section displays all your current token holdings and their corresponding USD values. It’s a great way to keep track of your investments at a glance.
  • Next, we have the Balances History quadrant. Here, you can see a graph that shows the balance-over-time for the USD value of your accounts. This gives you a quick view of how your investments are performing over time.
  • Moving on to the All Accounts quadrant. This section provides you with an overview of all your wallets, and you can easily switch between them by clicking on the separate tabs. If you click on a specific wallet address, you’ll be able to see more details such as Exchange Usage, P&L, and Top Counterparties widgets. Plus, if you haven’t added a wallet yet, you can do so by clicking on the “+” icon in the top right corner.
  • Last but not least, we have the Transactions quadrant. This section gives you a comprehensive table of all ERC-20 transactions that have taken place on-chain involving your wallets. You can even filter the transactions to view inflows and outflows separately.

Tracking activities of other entities

Whether you’re curious about a particular individual or organization, you can easily explore their wallet address or ENS name by using the search bar located at the top of the page. In fact, you can even initiate a search directly from the Homepage itself.

What sets Arkham apart is its exclusive database of labelled entities. These entities have been meticulously categorized and tagged, making it effortless for you to search for them by name and analyze their activities. You can search for your favourite influencer or fund, and chances are they might already be labelled and available for exploration on the platform.

Filtering through Analytics

Arkham has an awesome feature called filtering that’s available throughout the entire platform. It’s a handy tool that lets you organize and present data based on specific parameters. You can easily sort and sift through information by criteria such as Time, Party, Counterparty, Token Type, Token Amount, and USD Value.

Let me give you an example to make it crystal clear. Take a look at the bottom right-hand quadrant of the homepage. There, on the Transactions tab, you’ll notice some nifty filters. Keep an eye out for the three dashed lines, indicated by red arrows. Those are the filter options. When a filter has been applied, you’ll see a bright green arrow pointing to it. If you want to remove a filter, simply click the “x” button, and it’ll disappear like magic. It’s as simple as that!

Dashboard view

It’s an absolute game-changer when it comes to monitoring transactions of specific entities or groups of entities that you want to keep an eye on. The best part? You can customize the Dashboard with widgets that display specific data points, making it super personalized and tailored to your needs.

Here’s how it works:

  • To start tracking an entity, simply visit their entity page. Once you initiate tracking for that entity, they will be added to a list of tracked entities on your Dashboard. From that point forward, all their transactions will be conveniently displayed for you to observe and analyze.
  • Let’s say you want to track multiple entities as a group, like market makers, for instance. No problem! You can create a whole new Dashboard specifically for this purpose. Just click on “New Dashboard” and done! An empty page awaits you.
  • Now, it’s time to add some widgets to bring your Dashboard to life. Simply hover over the empty space, and you’ll find options to add widgets that suit your preferences.
  • What if you change your mind about a widget or no longer need it? Easy peasy! Just hover over the widget you wish to remove and click on the Rubbish Bin icon in the top right corner. Poof! It’s gone.
  • And if you want to modify or update the parameters of a widget, simply click on “Edit” and make the necessary adjustments.

Customised Alerts

These custom notifications are designed to keep you in the loop about on-chain activities in real time. To access the Alerts page:

  • simply click on the “Alerts” section in the navigation bar at the top. This will take you to the Alerts landing page, where you can create new alerts and manage your existing ones.
  • On the left-hand side of the page, you’ll find the option to create a new alert. Click on it, and voila! The “Create Alert” dialog box opens up, ready for you to customize your alert settings.
  • Fill in the different boxes to tailor the alert to your preferences. Start by specifying the subject whose alerts you’d like to track. You can also optionally choose to specify who the alerts should be received from or sent to. If you leave these fields blank, you’ll receive alerts for all transactions associated with the subject.
  • You have the option to narrow down the range of values for which you want to receive alerts. This way, you can focus on the transactions that truly matter to you.
  • Lastly, choose your preferred notification method: Email or Telegram. Pick the one that suits your needs and preferences, and you’re all set!

The Explorer Tab

This incredible section is divided into three fascinating parts: Block Explorer, My Entities, and My Labels.

  • With the Block Explorer, you have the power to utilize filtering and witness a thoughtfully curated collection of transactions involving a specific entity or token. To get started, make sure to apply at least one filter. If no filters are selected, it automatically adds a date filter, displaying only the transactions from the most recent day. Of course, you can always toggle this off if you have a specific query in mind and want to broaden your search.
  • Once you’ve set your filters, you can Arrange and organize it to your heart’s content, making it a breeze to navigate through the pages of transactions at your leisure.
  • There’s more to the Explorer Tab! It’s not just about exploring, but also about managing your very own customized entities and labels. On the My Entities tab, you hold the power to bring new entities to life. Simply click on the enticing “Create Entity” button and give it a name. Beneath the name, you can add wallet addresses, making it even more personalized. It’s important to note that these entities are private, meant exclusively for your eyes. You’re the sole proprietor of this knowledge.
  • But we’re not done yet. On the My Labels tab, you have the ability to create labels that resonate with you. Just add the address that piques your interest, assign it a unique label.

Visualizer

With the Visualizer, you have the freedom to examine various scenarios. You can focus on a single wallet address, observe entities with all their associated addresses grouped together, or even explore multiple entities side by side. To add an extra layer of precision, take a look at the bar located at the bottom of the screen. You can easily adjust it to select a specific timeframe within which to search for transactions.

Read more about:

And guess what? You have the ability to interact with the Visualizer itself. Click and drag any node around the screen to reposition it, allowing you to rearrange and reorganize the visual landscape. Right-clicking on an entity (or performing a two-finger press on Mac) reveals something truly fascinating. If that entity has multiple wallet addresses associated with it, the Visualizer will beautifully separate them out, displaying the connections between those wallets.
